Do you know your purpose? Why you exist? I know you’re probably thinking, “Well that’s a big question. You might as well be asking me if I know who’s going to win the next Mega Million Lottery.” Let me assure you, naming your life purpose takes no where near the physic ability as naming the next lotto winner. In fact, naming your purpose is as easy as brushing your teeth.
Here’s the secret to figuring out your life purpose. You ready? You’re purpose is that one dream and desire that scares you the most. It scares you the most because to live it you have to be crazy enough, bold enough, and courageous enough to walk forward owning it. When you do, it’s only then that you get to live in a space of complete satisfaction with who and what you are–truly enjoying life.
Here’s how you do it…
Ask yourself, What is that one thing you already know to be true that scares you to death? As scary as it feels, it’s that one thing you know will change your life for the better. It scares you because it requires change and challenges your current “normal”. It scares you because you know that in order to finally become who you want to be, and who you know you are inside, you have to change and conquer the unknown. You have to be crazy enough to break through the security of “normal”. Once you do your soul can’t help but move you forward.
Be bold and make action happen. You see, once you name it, the universe can’t help but put continuous opportunity in front of you to live your purpose. Oh look, that one person keeps showing up in your life, a grant opportunity for a class just randomly appeared on your desk, you’ve had three people say the same thing to you in the last day… Here’s your wake up call. You were crazy enough to name it, now be bold enough to take action–no matter how small.
Be courageous enough to walk forward:
Action requires you to move forward. No need to run. Walking will get you there just fine–but keep walking. No matter how slow, don’t stop walking forward. Action creates momentum, momentum creates ease, and before you know it you’ll be living a life that’s fully aligned with your purpose–who you really are.
How does this apply to business? Easy. It’s not possible to separate business and personal. You are one person, and everything about you goes everywhere you go. When you confidently live your purpose work becomes fun again–it gives you energy. So own your crazy. Be bold. And start walking forward.
